Site security and credit card information

The Car Care Nut site uses a Thawte SSL web server authentic site certificate. This offers secure communications by encrypting all data to and from the site at the point of checking out and providing your card details. The Thawte authentic site seal is located on the right hand column of our home page and can be clicked to verify. At the point of checking out your credit card details are encrypted using 128 bit encryption and sent to us by email, once your order is received we decrypt your mail. For security reasons and your peace of mind, we NEVER store credit card information at our database level.

Your personal information

The first time you shop on our site you will be asked to provide us with your address and delivery information, you will also be asked to provide an email address and password. Your email address will be used as your login/username and for your order confirmation. This information is stored in our database so that next time you shop on our site you can quickly log in rather than filling in your details each time. The only information you are required to provide each time you shop are your credit card details. You can rest assured that we shall never pass your personal details on to any third party.

WEEE Regulations

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law.  Distributors of new Electric and Electronic Euipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites. 

The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.  Recycling reduced the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill.  Car Care Nut is obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new Electrical or Electronic product from us.  Customers must return their like-for-like WEEE items to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item. You must pay for any transport costs incurred in returning the WEEE item to us.

Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of seperately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.

Ordering

We endeavour to ship all items within one to two working days of receiving your order, though we cannot guarantee this (UK regulations allow the supplier thirty days to dispatch goods). We try to keep as much as possible in stock, if an item is out of stock we will notify you by email. We will send you an email to confirm your order has been received. Once your order has been processed you will be notified by email on its dispatch. Price and availability information displayed on the Car Care Nut website are subject to change without notice.

You can pay by Mastercard, Visa, Delta, Maestro, or Solo.  

Postage

Our shopping cart will calculate your postage costs which will be added to your grand total. Once you confirm these costs your order will then be dispatched. If we are unable to fulfil all items within your order, we may reduce the shipping cost when we process your order.   All £2.49 P & P orders will be sent by 2nd Class Royal Mail.  Scottish Highlands postage includes postcodes AB31 and above, HS, IV, KA27, KA28, KW, PA20 and above, ZE and Scottish Isles.

Pricing

Whilst we endeavour to ensure the prices on our website and in our website are as accurate as possible, we reserve the right to change a price or specification without notice. If a price is corrected due to exceptional circumstances, customers will be informed of the change before payment is processed and offered the opportunity to cancel the order.

Our Returns Policy

At Car Care Nut we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase every time you shop with us. Occasionally though, we know you may want to return items, so below is our returns policy:-

If for any reason you are displeased with your purchase, you can return it to us in its original condition, within 7 days, and we will send you a full refund for the price you paid for the item.

If you are returning an item it is your responsibility to insure the item during postage as we cannot be held responsible for damage during transit by any third party. We highly recommend that you pack your item extremely well and also take out insurance.

If you are returning an item because of an error on our part or because it is defective, we will refund your costs in returning it to us. Otherwise you will be responsible for those charges.

This returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Please contact us by e-mail or telephone to notify us of the return and include a note with your returned item detailing why it has been returned.

You will be responsible for the costs of returning the items to us unless we delivered the item to you in error or the item is faulty.
